Dear Editor,

Mark Wignall, the "little white lady" you referred to in your column of April 13 happens to be the Queen of England, our head of state. What's with the racist remark against the queen? You need to tell what she did for you to broadside her like that.

And while you are spewing out racist remarks, know that you are stepping on my deceased white grandfather's corn and dissing my other white relatives. I don't like it like that.
And while you are dissing the whites, remember that because of the incompetence of our black government and our black police force, we have had to bring in the white man to deal with our spiralling crime problem and put calm back into inner-city communities - a matter that is the job of our elected officials. Better to shut up about the racial stuff.
Public people like you must be more careful with what you say, lest you lead some to think that it's acceptable, or somehow prudent to disrespect others among us that make up our "out of many one people" national motto.

And if you tire of having the Queen as head of state, don't diss her (she is 80 years old), just ask our lousy politicans why it takes them so long to switch Jamaica to a republic.
And know that the Queen of England has nothing to do with it. It is our own dependence on the UK that keeps us locked into that relationship. When will we be willing to cut clean and stand on our own two feet?

Dear Editor,

The letter "Don't diss the queen" in Wednesday's paper is an inspiration. I did not read the article to which the letter writer referred as I make it a policy not to read such nonsense.

Where are these types of opinion makers going with this attitude towards people they don't know? They are using whatever opportunity they have to voice their bitterness against others so as to generate some popular movement going nowhere. The first sign of intellectual weakness from a writer is the blame game and the trumping of the race card. They use a broad brush to paint and cover up moral defects.

In the case of the queen, she has never put down anyone or any race of people. She has always promoted development where there is none, while people in the media such as the writer quoted can do nothing but try to wage war by inciting rebellion for no sensible cause. He's a failure and not wanting to admit it. He is working on the weakness of young Jamaicans seeking a way out of their problems that weak leadership imposed on their lives since 1976. I am a witness to this campaign.

Funny, this I was reading about every bodies favorite hero of Pan-Africanism, decolonisation, Africans first modern Big Man and the honour of being the first post colonial deposed leader, a case study in post colonial economic mismangemet.... Kwame Nhruhma was a huge fan of the queen, infact was smitten by her!!!

His story of her getting on her knees to look for Kwame African stick that was miss laid may be an object lesson in the humbleness of assured power much like the washing of the disciple feet by Jesus....

Now a funny thing just happened..

A friend of mine just called me, an Irish lad who claims his granfather was a founder member of the IRA, not the Provos, the orioginal IRA back at the turn of the centuary you know the time of Collins, D'alavera ect, the 1916 rising, the GPO seighe and all of that kind of thing. As the conversation began he asked me what I was doing told him answering a website on a question on the queen... He said well it is a good thing it is not an Irish web site or the use of venacular adjectives would cause the internet to melt..

He even expressed alarm at a recent floated idea that the queen would vist Ireland.. He expressed the idea that that was a bad idea as there is still herat felt disdain at the irish colonial experience and may lead to violence....

Just like the momument in Dublin that got blown up mysteriously...... Well my friend is an examole of post colonial irish reconciliation.. He married the dauhgter doyen of Anglo - irish society....

Just a wahalla ramble...

Well at least the Queen's Men did attack Ireland and there is an on-going situation, but did the Queen attack Jamaica?

On the contrary. What was done to Ireland is no different from what was done to Jamaican blacks.
It is actually similar. They went to Ireland and take all the Irish arable land issued yto olanters as they did in Jamaica then take the Irish citizens and made them slaves in their own country. The irish fought for their freedom,but only got it for a part of the country the queen still hold 6 counties under ther colonial control. They did the same to Jamaica only they hold the majority of the crops in colonial perpetuity with their paying solw that Jamaica will loose their so called freedom.

It is amazing how all those miseducated ex colonies heros of the anti colonial struggle seem to hold her is high esteem, Nhrumah, Kaunda, Mandela, even Manley the younger the list seems endless. It is even odd that a country of revoluntionaries communist Mozambique joined an organisation of which she is the titular head...

Ah and on a historical note your facts are slightly awry.. The Irish were the Aboriginal natives.. and had a similar land distribution system to Britian.. mainly in the hand of land owners and land were assigned.. Jamaica and the west Indies us Tainos had the land we were dispossed.. The Africans were bought in....

And it is interesting to examine Irish history, the irish and the british had a mutual history of invasion and counter invasion.... Until the delight elevation of the worlds first "Ayotoallah" who insisted on the rights of the common man and the supremesy of parliment over the monarchy... He was the man who wanted wealth to be held in trust for the masses , the a proto communist if you will.. Oliver Cromwell.. .After supress the royalist he then went and got "common weath on the irish" .. To this day the most serious Irish curse is " the curse of crommel on yer"..

More interesting and I am sure you are aware is the fact that this man who claimed to have the rights of the masses was the fella who implemented "the western design" which inpart called for the capture of hispanola and cuba from the spanish.. After failure he took Jamaica... Well his Admiral Penn went on to form a colony in the US, because he was a failure in Jamaica.... Jamaica, and Barbadoes was then used as a penal colony for reluctant Irish immigrants!


I am now indifferent to weather she is the head of State or not... What I would rather them not do is waste the resources to change this anacronism.. it would cost and this money would be better deployed else were... And I do like the idea of a "commonwealth", tyhe head of state meeting, the commonweath games....a kind of lose connection between a once shared history....
