J'can workers complete stand at Trelawny stadium
CFC Construction Limited, the Jamaican company that was sub-contracted to build the southern stand of the Greenfield stadium in Trelawny, has completed the project ahead of the May 30 completion date.
The completion of the stand, which is twice the size of the northern stand built by the main contractors of the stadium - the Chinese company, COMPLANT - is being heralded as a big achievement by CFC, which is managed by Delroy Christie.
"It was a matter of pride, we worked up to midnight seven days a week to get the project finished," Christie told the Observer yesterday.
The stadium which will host the opening ceremony of Cricket World Cup 2007 is being built on a loan from the Chinese government.
