EVERALD Warmington, the controversial former South West St Catherine MP, yesterday apologised for telling a television anchor to "go to hell" when he was questioned about his former status as a dual citizen.However, the apology came via a joint statement with President Emeritus of the University of Technology (UTech) Dr Alfred Sangster and not the ruling Jamaica Labour Party which Warmington will again be representing in the April 4 by-election in South West St Catherine."I, Everald Warmington, former MP for South West St Catherine, admit that my response to Ms Kerlyn Brown was unworthy of my status as (former) member of parliament and a qualified professional in the building industry."I unreservedly apologise to her and other members of the media, my fellow Jamaicans and others who have been offended by my remarks and behaviour," said the joint statement over the signatures of Warmington and Sangster.The former MP promised to do an "ongoing review" of his public image.Warmington, a quantity surveyor, is a graduate of UTech.In the joint statement, Dr Sangster described Warmington as a distinguished graduate of UTech and said the former MP is listed as one of the university's distinguished alumni."The institution does not abandon its alumni, even if they sometimes make mistakes, and as such seeks to promote the principles of reconciliation, forgiveness and commitment to improvement," said the joint statement.
