Will say this though, I was completely gob-smacked when a friend in Havana said to me "I don't like black people"....

(She's of Spanish extraction).

And she knows I was married to an African and have a son with him.....

Most racialism tend to be subconscious, and it is often confused with racism. So your friend may not have been racist just racial.

I really do not understand your question.

So I will give both definition how I understand them.

Racialism:- that there are heritable characteristics, possessed by members of our species, that allow us to divide them into a small set of races, in such a way that all the members of these races share certain traits and tendencies with each other that they do not share with members of any other race.

MY DEFINITION:-Racialism is the acceptance of physical and cultural differences between peoples based on biology, geography, origin and history.

Racism:-that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

Thanks for the clarification. Replace racialism with the word bigot in the name of clarity. Bigotry explans the English vs. Irish. French vs. Flemish, Hutu vs. Tutu....

However, the poster was talking about racism. People that marry or mate other races can and do, remain vehement racists. I do not need to explain that.

Look up Strom Thurman and his daughter.

No Bigotry would not be a good replacement for racialism, as most early European abolitionist were racialist but not racist or bigots.
Bigotry is indeed an apt word for the animosities that exists between..&quot;English vs. Irish. French vs. Flemish, Hutu vs. Tutu....&quot; but tribalism would be better.

Yes the poster was talking about racism and yes racist do sometime marry members of the race they hate or despise.
&quot;I don't like black people&quot;....no context was given, hence like in this instant may represent a preference.
The reason I took the time to response to the poster was that having a preference does not always equate to racism, I prefer to have sex with women...therefore &quot;I do not like men&quot; (as sexual partners, or in Jamaican slang - Mi Nuh Love Man) that does not mean a hate gays.
In other words for it to equate to racism one must actively persecute or approve, support such persecution.

Latin Countries have a history of vehement racism. Do these cultures still prictice racism?

There is a concerted attempt by some people who are conflating the meanings of these words so as to preach the untenable doctrine of &quot;reverse racism&quot; so as to continue the denial of black access to societies largess on an equal and remedial footing.
