Really?
and what will change in the lives of the people of these new nations other than the heads of state who sell them out?
The economies will not change, the undemocratic ways of party run politics will not change, the rich-poor divide will not change, deaths from capitalist created poverty will not stop.
But, I suppose that if you support totalitarianism and the totalitarianism of capitalism you need to find something to make things seem like they will change for the better.
Notice that they are having more demonstrations in Egypt as that rebellion is sidetracked into the same old same old and there is no change in the lives of the poor and working people.
Offering false hope is just so cheap a tactic. -

what about ivory coast...somalia already has somaliland...and djibouti...perhaps ogaden;
it should get interesting...but it already happened in europe- sarajevo- the serbs, croatia, bosnia...the old soviet sattelites...

it is a new paradgim... there is a need to break out of the artifical structures of the colonial lines...
interestingly in nigeria there is a splinter into smaller and smaller states since idependence. But that is driven bby the need to access the oil revenue.
~There is a future that there si smaller entities.. one that there is a furhter scramble for resources....
