Again I never said you or anyone could not vent. I never said I don't want to read it. I never said I was so detained by your rants that I could not skip to other topics. You said all that!

What I said is you have been one of the main complainers on this board about peoples posts and you have used a variety of underhanded methods.

Ah I was just going to suggest that. I think I was wondering myself if you have figured out how we can collectively work to arrest the descent into hellish pit that Jamaica has found itself in?

Now THAT is the million dollar question. I think that the article gives us some important clues. That is why I posted it. That pastor has set an EXCELLENT example. He is a role model for all of us. We should support his efforts if we are in a position to do so and find a way in our own sphere of influence to do something similar.

I also want to point to the example set by someone I know personally. He has passed on but his legacy lives on. Over the years has personally taken over the responsibility to pay for the education and living expenses of at least 4 young people from the time they were 11 until they reached maturity. One young lady is now a successful nurse, married with a family and about to start working on her doctorate. She was from a LARGE family and had a mother who could not even help herself. This young lady has been able to turn around and help her siblings. All she needed was a leg up. The others have trades and are able to support themselves. This individual also taken some elderly Jamaicans under his wing and ensure that they had 3 square meals a day and a roof over their head. He donated a lot of money to his primary school over the years, visited the school and gave motivational talks to encourage the children whenever he was in Jamaica. He has also done a TON of volunteer work in the local Jamaican community and set up and run a number of programmes to help young people who were struggling in terms of academics. The bottom line, is it NEVER possible to do enough. We have to identify those we can help, sacrifice a bit and see to it that the door of opportunity opens for those who would not have a chance otherwise. It's hard because we all have our personal struggles and financial ups and downs. But, even if we are just a little better off than someone else, we can each do SOMETHING.
