Tori Stafford Case: Canada Needs Death Penalty

The Tori Stafford case sick me stomach. Mi cyan watch it. When it comes on mi jus tun dung de sound. Vicious pond scum like this should not be breathing and taking up space.

The girlfriend lured the 8 year old girl into her boyfriend's car after school. They abducted her. The boyfriend committed unspeakable acts and raped her. The girlfriend murdered her in a most brutal manner. They then dumped her out of the car like they were dumping a bag of garbage. I won't even post the link to the news story. It's that sickening.

I wouldn't even call them animals as it would be an insult to animals. So why don't they just put these vicious amoebas and society out of their misery.

Canada<span style="font-weight: bold"> does </span> need to bring the death penalty. Jamaica really needs to become a republic so that vicious slime like this can't appeal to the Privy Council and have their death sentenes commuted to life imprisonmett.

even if the death penalty was in play here there is a high probability that they would not be sentenced to death.

They should receive the death penalty in these cases and it should be carved in stone in Canada's laws. They are playing with these people man. Look pon Karla Homolka, married with pickney and living a life of ease and comfort in the Caribbean. She should have been put out of her misery LONG TIME!! Disgusting man!!

i understand what you are saying ...but the reality is different that what we would like to see emotionally.

Homolka was never even charged for murder so the death penalty was never in play anyway.

Maybe it's because I read the Jamaican papers every morning because I find I am just numb to cases such as these. When you read about killers cutting off their victims heads or killers that set their victims house on fire and wait outside to shoot them when they try to escape the smoke and flames, it changes you.

Horrible people live among us, they commit horrible crimes against the innocent and helpless, life goes on! It's just a matter of time until it happens again.

She was not charged for murder because the Crown made its infamous deal with the devil. This should never have happened. Some people should have been fired over this.

Remember Homolka cut a deal to testify against Bernado in exchange for 12 years and this was before the details of her involvement were revealed in court. You might remember the public outcry re the deal and I believe we will never see such a &quot;sweetheart&quot; deal again. In the Tori Stafford case, no deals were cut and even though the perpetrator agreed to testify against her ex, she still ended up getting life in prison for first degree murder, even though at the time she said it was her ex who killed Tori.

maybe no deals were cut because they had the evidence they needed. and they did not need her assistance.

but the reality is that Police make a lot of mistakes and take a lot of shortcuts.

the laws had evolved faster then the capability of the police and it has made justice much harder to find.

Canadians started an online campaign to have a referendum on the death penalty in response to McClintic's conviction. In a recent Abacus Data survey, <span style="font-weight: bold">66% of Canadians indicated they want the death penalty to be used in cases like Tori's, just as they called for it when they learned about the details of the deaths of Tammy Homolka, Leslie Mahaffy and Kristen French -- all victims of serial killers Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka. Some also think capital punishment is justified in the recent Shafia family murder case.</span>&quot;I know there is a certain sentiment about capital punishment, and it comes out in these times, but those may not be the times when we need to make conscious decisions about where to go, because then it is a case of anger and emotion,&quot; said Conservative MP David MacKenzie.

MacKenzie is a former police chief of the Ontario city of Woodstock, where Tori lived. He says while he is aghast at what happened, he struggles with capital punishment.

During the 1990s, the death penalty was discussed on the Hill. In response to the Bernardo and Homolka case, several Reform Party members called for it to be reintroduced to the Canadian justice system.

Calgary's Rob Anders, however, is one of the only MPs left calling for the death penalty. He was first elected as a Reform MP in 1997.

&quot;I support capital punishment, certainly in cases like this, and serial murders like Olson, or Bernardo,&quot; Anders said. &quot;These people can't be rehabilitated. I also have no doubt that capital punishment serves as a severe deterrent.&quot;
