now that zekes has been incarcerated is what i'm reading...residents making an effort to build up the community & clear some of the roadblocks....even police chiming in that crime is way down...
can this really all be because of the downfall of zekes? they say no other 'don' has taken his place and they want it that way.
could one man really have had this much impact on the community?

No other don has taken his place ...so far.
Don's are created from a vaccium of law enforcement.
as soon as crime in th ecommunity gets beyond what the people can bear,they will simply suipport asny force that will offer them the security the police does not.
That is the natural laws and no where is outside it. don's are similar to the security guards and the road blocks is similar to th egated communities the affluent employs. It is just a matter of time.
The police force seem to be so involved in operating their own private enterprizes that no sector seem to be satisfied with the little service they afford the public.
the salary is just not sufficient to afford full time employment.
they have to resort to informal means to suppliment it. In th emean time the people suffer and resort ot dons and other private security arrangements for personal security.

There could be another change to the People's National Party's (PNP) slate of candidates for the upcoming General Election.
Reports have surfaced that Oliver Clue, who was confirmed last year as the candidate for East Rural St. Andrew, might not be running in the Election.

It was not immediately clear what has led to Mr. Clue's reconsidering his candidacy.

One PNP insider told the RJR Newscentre that some senior party officials want Mr. Clue replaced by a stronger candidate.

When contacted Monday night, Mr. Clue said he will make an announcement on his political future in two weeks.

Mr. Clue served as Member of Parliament for East Rural St. Andrew between 1993 and 1997 and from 1997 to 2002.

The seat has since been held by the Jamaica Labour Party's Joseph Hibbert.

ScotchBrite and the other man that was killed were from Oliver Clue's Area. They were supposedly handling the weed business for Zeeks, which is what led to the disagreement, then the killings.

Oliver Clue was on the phone with Zeeks, pleading wit him to give the men a chance. That was when Zeeks revealed that ScotchBrite was polishing his rifle.

The next thing Oliver heard was gunshots.
With Zeeks gone they don't have any loyal united guns in Matthews Lane.

Yep that was the Clue to Zeeks demise.
I doubt if the evidence did not come from that direction then Zeeks would not have been even charged.

Remember Clue is still a sitting Councilor.

Mr. Clue, who is also Councillor for the Harbour View Division in the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation, is insisting that he was not forced out by supporters of Dr. Phillips or members of the party's hierarchy.

Mr. Clue says he was unable to do more for his constituency due to a lack of money.

He noted that the PNP is not in a position to help him financially with a political campaign.

In the meantime, the man poised to replace Mr. Clue says he expects a smooth transition.
