lottery scam & extortion plots

anyone heard of this?
they're climing several prominent names have come up and that criminals are aware of the large cash receipts and have an extortion scheme where letters are delivered to the participants basically telling them to pay up at such & such a time or head a guh lick awf...

Police high command has sent extra forces into the Western sections of JA to put a halt to an alleged "lottery scam" ..

they have rounded up dozens of people (including some alleged gang members) and charged some ..

i was following it in the newspapers but have not heard a LOT IN THE PAST WEEK OR SO .

one young lady got arrested .. and they found $1M in her dresser ..

The police also claim that a new Lottery Scheme/Scam has started to replace the old one.
