The children of the 60s were the last of a generation en masse of educated and socially aware intellectuals. Jamaica was on an upward path of development so much so that Singapore`s Lee Kwan Yu (sp) came to Jamaica to gain first hand knowledge on a country that he could model his own on.
Since the experimentation in the 70s by an egoist Michael Manley, our education processes have been diluted to create an illusion of great helpfullness transferring All age Schools into high Schools and samfieing parents into believing that from this, doctors and lawyers, scientists and artisans of great reknown would be born from this Socialist flirtation.
Since the advent of the 70s there has been a downward trend of diluted quality in almost every sphere of life. So much so that the kids of today look to Corner men, disgusting lyricists called Dee Jays and drug lords as mentors, because is them have the Money and is dem have the woman and de car and de cell phone.
Intellectualism has died a slow death. The ability to think, the ability to think with a sense of quality has been eroded by the lies and promises of Governments, dominated by the PNP who have led the people into a state of dinasouric poverty.
With no where to go, no one to rely on, no social services of any significance, no job creations, no investments of the kind that is needed to get Jamaica on the road of modern day development, some so many of people turn against one another in desperation to survive and with red eyes and barbarous hearts they shoot one another down, they burn children with their grandparents in their homes and the power stuck leaders of today sit cool behind their steel grills and 24x7 body guards and guard dogs and hope that elections wont take away from them what matters most, their Power.
