Guardsman Ltd. to replace Port Security Corp guards
The National Workers Union (NWU) is calling on the Transport Minister to explain why nearly 30 security guards employed to the state run Port Security Corp are being replaced by guards employed to Guardsman Limited.
Speaking with the RJR News Centre Friday, NWU President, Vincent Morrison, said he was informed Friday morning that the Government has entered into a contract with the company.
He says this will cause nearly 30 workers to lose their jobs.
The NWU President is expressing outrage at the development and is indicating that the move could result in problems at the Norman Manley International Airport come Monday.
