We all agree that the violence in Jamaica is extremely bad.
We all agree that the violence in Jamaica affect security
We all agree that the violence in Jamaica is constantly increasing
We all agree that the violence in Jamaica, much of it is political and drug related
We all agree that the violence in Jamaica is causing a brain drain on the country
I could list many more causes/effect of the violence in Jamaica.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! It is full time the UN is drafted into Jamaica to sort out the violence. It is said Jamaica is the third most violent place on the planet! Per square mile, if Jamaica was as big as the other two it would place it first.

Haiti has a drug gang violence related problem that is causing hardship on the economy - the UN has been drafted in to drive out the drug lord scums and warlords/don leaches and parasites that are causing the violence to affect Hiati economy from progressing the way it really could.

It is time for the UN troops to land on Jamaica's beaches move into the areas of kingston and wider Jamaica where the violence is acute. UN tanks and helicopters are needed with UN troops ready fi the war on badman, don man, war lord and their goons in Trench Town, Tivoli, Marvalley, Jungle, Rema, Waterhouse, Maxfield, Whitehall and all areas with gunmen who mashup the community. Fight fiyah wid fiyah. See how badman, war lord and don man do against armored tanks with heavy artillery, designed for an all out full scale war.

The JDF seem to be impotent over the YEARS to do anything in such a small terrain as Jamaica. This brings their training and leaders into question as well as those from the police force including special police units. They have ALL failed to make tiny Jamaica a better place. The UN is the next step since all other methods have been exhausted.

I want Jamaica back for the people.
I want the parasites and leaches exterminated

Brief History
The Jamaican Posses first began operating in the early 1970s, originally dealing in marijuana and guns. From 1983, they expanded into crack cocaine. Their centers of drug trafficking are New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Miami, with Connecticut's major cities as secondary distribution points (Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport). A number of Posse members are in prison in these areas.

Although their members originate from Jamaica, they are not connected with the Rastafarian religion, who predominantly associate themselves with the production and sale of marijuana. There is a rift between the two groups over the production of cocaine in Jamaica - the Rastafari are against the production of harder drugs than cannabis.

There are two Posses that come into the news and are well documented and these are, The Spangler Posse, alleged to be politically aligned with the People's National Party PNP (socialistic tendencies rumored to be aligned with Fidel Castro), and the Shower Posse (aligned with the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP), and allegedly aligned with the United States and the CIA).

Violence
Jamaican Posse members are known for gun battles with the police and drive-by shootings in disputes with rival gangs over drug turf. Posse members are known for ritualized killings of members who "rip off" profits on drugs. The killing ritual usually involves the shooting of the individual five times; four to the chest and one to the head. Posse members have little regard for public safety or human life, including their own as they grow up watching films like Rambo, Scarface, and spaghetti westerns. Posse violence can be directed at anyone they feel has disrespected them or is in their way. Once in prison, however, their violence is savage but not regular.

Other ritually violent acts are using irons, chainsaws, hammer & nails, butcher's knifes and burning in or killing.

The alleged head of the One Order Gang, Andrew 'Bun Man' Hope, was murdered in Spanish Town on Feb 8, 2006 which sparked a riot the following day.

I would say that the problems of violence, drug use/sales are all part of the problems that come from poverty.

Were every person to have a job that could pay for a decent standard of living, were those jobs guaranteed by the government so that no one need fret about where their next meal or rent money was coming from, there just wouldn't be the need for gangs.

Of course you'd need a different kind of economy and a way out of the crippling debt that takes so much of the money necessary for the needed social programs.

I am sorry but the litany you have presented is not the source of Jamaica's problem,butbrather symptoms of the problem.
Jamaica's violence and all the machinery that administers it that you have listed and others not listed are symptoms of the real problem. the problem is that jamaica is supposedly to be independent.
It however,is neither politically independent,or economically benefits from the secondary or higher multiplier effect of it's earnings.
In other words jamaica is both politically and economically a colony.
Even the police force that was establisfed to support thecolonial system has not had the relevant policy change required for it to function in an independent cpuntry.
That is the most urgent need that withoiut which the country will never experience civilized acceptable level of violence.
As long as the police act to suppress the majority,the country will only move from gun violence,to explosive belts and other devices.

I know it a bitter pill to swallow for you'll. What is the alternative? Sit on our hands or hold our hands in the air and pray? No one is saying the UN is squeaky clean but gunmen are murdering and raping many, and many innocent are being killed. The difference is when the UN troops break the law they are accountable and brought to book much easier than a gunman/drug dealer that is outside the law and by is very nature have no respect for his own life much less others.

I prefer my Nigerian - African brothers in UN uniform in Jamaica securing the streets where Jamaica's own security systems have failed many times rather than allow gunmen and drug dealers to sell dope to our kids, corrupt our youths and kill innocent people every striking day dem draw gods air.

I am willing to try anything to claim back the streets of Jamaica - even if they are americans or british. We agree to the UN being in Iraq and other violent countries but when it's our own back yard we don't like it and find excuses that allow the drug dealers, dons and war lords along with their gunmen to exist and thrive at society's expense.

If you don't get rid of pests they multiply and like parasites these people will suck Jamaican communities dry until nothing is left but a society similar to Afghanistan dependent on drugs and warlords - That's exactly what the war lords and drug dealers want!

I think you are confused about the whole situation in Jamaica and the role of the gangs you named.

Some of those gangs you listed never operated in Jamaica, have gone through metamorphic changes or have been defunct for years. The gangs that operate in Jamaica tend to be violent corner gangs that are not part of any larger gangs except that they may share the same party allegiance.

So the gangs are not very stable, not very identifiable and are interchangeable based who dissed who last. Alliances are formed and broken almost daily. So whereas in the past you could id a gang based on a community, it is not that easy any more.

The other problem is the gangs may be a source of a lot of the murders, but there is also a general lawlessness in Jamaica that is separate and apart from gang activity.
It is not mainly a security problem, but an economic, cultural and more important political problem.

The UN was designed to work with Governments to keep the peace, not to fight gang wars and engage in guerrilla occupation.
You seem to be sanctioning the use of more violence against Jamaicans rather than trying to suggest and find creditable solutions to Jamaica's problems.
