I don't see what the probelm is and why people are giving her & Portia a hard time ...
She's beautiful - so what she's never held public office and has no experience whatsoever in relation to the position. She's gorgeous - that's really all that should matter.

PNP upbeat about resolution of South East St. Ann dispute
The People's National Party (PNP) is asserting that it will be able to sign off on the candidate for the troubled South East St. Ann constituency by Monday.
The Party's Executive is scheduled to discuss the matter at a meeting scheduled for Monday evening, following which it will issue a statement.
The team dispatched to the constituency on Thursday to appease disgruntled supporters had to stave off strong opposition from pockets of PNP die-hards.
But a member of that team is expressing confidence that the way is being cleared for the signing off on a candidate for the constituency.
Paul Burke returned an upbeat man, with news that his travels had not been in vain. However, news emerged out of the constituency that he and his team had been sent packing.
But Mr. Burke contends that only a handful of supporters resisted his efforts.
PNP General Secretary Donald Buchanan has signalled that the four original contenders are out in the cold.
Former Miss World, Lisa Hanna, is the surprise choice of PNP President Portia Simpson Miller.
The people of the constituency have signalled that they are not happy with that choice.
Early this week, they were fiery in their rejection of Ms. Hanna.
So if the past nine months are anything to go by, it is anybody's guess whether the PNP will be able to keep its promise to finally put a lid on the protracted impasse.
In the meantime, the RJR News Centre has received reports that some PNP supporters in South East St. Ann are planning to stage a protest in the constituency on Friday.
Pockets of supporters continue to highlight their opposition to what they characterised as the party's autocratic style of selecting a candidate for the constituency and are insisting that someone else be given the job.
Miss Hanna has maintained her silence on the furore over her proposed candidacy for the seat.

The Lisa Hannah horse and pony cirus continues:
Fri Jun 8, 2007
PNP proposed candidate not on Voters’ List
Eyebrows are being raised in the People's National Party (PNP) over revelations that Lisa Hanna who is tipped to be the candidate in South East St. Ann does not have a vote.
It is understood that Ms. Hanna was not enumerated in the recent exercise, and as a result is not on the Voters' List and cannot vote in the next General Election.
This has placed the leadership of the PNP in an embarrassing position as sources say the final processes are being undertaken to install Miss Hanna as the next election candidate, amidst opposition from pockets of supporters in the constituency.
But highly-placed party sources are already moving to put a positive spin on this latest development.
RJR News was told Miss Hanna voted in 2002.
It is being claimed that Miss Hanna left the island and was not present for the protracted re-verification exercise between 2004 and 2006.
Insiders claim that she did not understand the process on her return to the island.
The party is expected to dispatch a statement on the issue shortly.
In the meantime, Ms Hanna's critics within the party say she is not setting the best example for the voting public.
They argue that if everyone took her route, there would be no one to cast a legitimate vote.
Party members are also not amused by reports that she is still a member of the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) affiliate Generation 2000.
It is understood that Miss Hanna has not formally cut ties with that organisation and is being described as an inactive member.
Under the Constitution of the JLP, members who join rival political organisations are automatically booted.

PNP hopeful resigns from JLP affiliate
The RJR News Centre on Friday evening received a copy of a letter allegedly sent by Lisa Hanna to President of the G2K Warren Newby formally resigning from the Jamaica Labour Party Affiliate.
The tersely worded letter consists of two sentences.
In the first, Ms Hanna states that as she has not been active within the organization for several years.
It states, "You are aware I have not been active within the organization since 2002 and as such I would assume that I am no longer listed among your membership".
The letter goes on to say that in order to remove any doubt, by way of this letter, she is formally resigning from Generation 2000.
The copy faxed to the news centre is dated May 25, 2007.

PNP Deputy Campaign Director denies constitutional dilemma
Deputy Campaign Director of the People's National Party (PNP) Paul Burke is refuting reports that the party has found itself in a constitutional bind as Lisa Hanna is not a registered member.
RJR News reported Friday that PNP executives are unable to produce a membership form for Miss Hanna five days after news broke that she has been hand-picked by PNP President Portia Simpson Miller to contest the South East St. Ann seat.
For one, Mr. Burke says Miss Hannah has not been officially declared the candidate.
Mr. Burke refrained from naming Ms Hanna directly, choosing instead to refer to her as "the recommended candidate".
He argued that the person recommended for the candidacy is in the process of taking the appropriate steps to have his or her membership regularised.
Mr. Burke also asserted that there is no problem with the recommended candidate's timetable for this process to be completed.
Mr. Burke also referred to Rule 23 of the Party's Constitution.
It states that "Group members and members by direct application shall subscribe to party funds such as any amount as determined by the Executive Committee for each category of membership".
It further states that any such member who is more than seven months in arrears shall be deemed non-financial.
Asked about the relevance of this rule to Miss Hanna, Mr. Burke said the recommended person is not a non-financial member.

This is the way the PNP Government has been running the country for the last 18 years.
The law/conventions are not a shackle.

There are rules they just get ignored. I am not asleep, but sometimes I wonder if Jamaicans @ home and abroad have collectively been lulled off to sleep?
Anyway here is an interesting letter in the Gleaner:
It's a big mistake
published: Saturday | June 9, 2007
The Editor, Sir:
I am writing to alert the People's National Party (PNP) of the modern phenomenon called the email lobby - even as I thank them for bringing the technology to a very large number of ordinary Jamaicans.
Women across the island (over all 60 constituencies) - many of whom are voters - have started to take the time out of our real-life world and schedules to comment on the Alice in Wonderland (or Lisa in South East St. Ann) mistake.
In summary, it does not sit well with us. There are three major reasons that I list on behalf of the 'Real Women Internet Lobby':
We reject the trophy-wife syndrome.
We reject the disrespect of the women of Jamaica by the imposition of Lisa Hanna on our consciousness.
We question her competence to provide representation to anyone on any real issue such as those of rural Jamaica and rural Jamaican women.
In closing, we thought it was Air Jamaica and not the PNP that has-been beauty queens went off to -- shall I say - serve. Madam Prime Minister, this Lisa Hanna Mistake may cost you more than you are prepared to lose - that being the support of Jamaican women.
I am, etc.,
