So mi a watch di video pan youtube wheh portia and bruce a address di qwestion aff flip or flop. Now mi nuh trust niedah caw dem a politrixians but....

on dis occasion portia made a valid point. I mention this earlier before I saw this video that any leader who call himself/herself leader and bail when presha reach dem must not be trusted. If a man or woman disagree wid a principle, once that choice is made to leave or stay, then STICK TO IT.

If yuh leff a ting, leff ieh and guh setup betta and stick wid dat and nurcha and bill dat. If yuh stay wid a ting, den stay di course and commit yuhself to change di ting fram widdin. Eida way stick to yuh principle and wah yuh set out fi do fi mek tings betta.

I feel sorry you boss, your party(PNP) lost and now you'll get to see what happens when good governance is put in place.

the pnp took away free education in the 1990's and the JLP are putting it back.because with an educated society, people will be better equipped to rise out of poverty and be more productive.


Then again, with how you talk, i guess your opposed to education.

The sad thing is, the oodles of time portia was given to fly out and dance for a year and half, not even 1/10 of that will be spared on Bruce Golding.

What nonsense, he made it clear, he leave the party because of fundamental differences, he stood up for his principle. He was quite comfortable to walk away from the NDM as it was going no where and stay out of the JLP also, its is after much persuasions by many Jamaicans, especially the grass roots members of the JLP and even friendly PNP he decided to come back, and even then he would not have done so if Mr. Seaga did not agree to some of, not all his concerns and like he said, no one can question his credibility as a MP and as a Minister, and boy I can swear for that and go further to say he is incorruptible

You heard his acceptance speech that’s who he is, not a fake or fraud but a man of his words. Bruc-e will be the leader that Jamaica needs today.
Those principles he stood for and concerns that lead to his departure from the JLP, had form the core of his campaign theme, and will be the guide by which he will now govern.

The flip flap is Portia saying, She did not accept the money and the Money was return, how can you return something you never get in the first place.
Her little speech was a disaster and most people would not know how close the Country came to a civil war especially in Kingston because of her stupidity.
I have urge and will continue to plea with the good comrades here to wise up and take back their Party from the brink of destruction.
To add insult to injury, when she did concede she did it by a press release after promise to address her party faithful and the nation.

You have made two major assumptions in bold that are way off the mark. Anyone around here can tell you I dislike politrixians and pilitrix. I am neither a fan or supporter of the PNP or JLP. Both have terrorist garrisons that they finance to terrorise their own poor people. Yuh need to click on my profile and view the posts I place on here to see how wrong you are.

Seaga and Manley together - single handdely mashup jamaica and it has not recovered. Their "type" of politrix made brother killed brother in their names and for their political cause. So which side of the fence you sit because both support terrorism!

I have ignored the bits in bold because that is straying off the topic and sound like a typical political response to divert from the issue. Not that I disagree with the bits in bold, just that it is a subject for a separate thread.

So you said bruce came clean and stuck to his principles? OK lets be honest here. You are telling me his "principles" told him to LEAVE the JLP and setup a rival political party NDM to gain political power. Then when he realised it wasn't gonna work out as planned he WENT BACK to the JLP.

Now logics tells me that either ONE or BOTH parties have been betrayed because of his "PRINCIPLES". I would feel betrayed if I put my faith in someone and we setup a ting together out of "principles" or frustration that things need to change. Then to see that person leave the ting we setup and go back to the very sinting we left in frustration because of lack of change in the first place.

I am not a fan of politics but I would think some in the JLP party would not trust him on is return to the party and those "comrades" he left in the NDM would feel dissapointed and abandoned.

He should have stuck with the JLP and fight for his "principles" to change things from within. If he felt/realised he couldn't bring about the changes he wanted for a better jamaica then when he decided to leave and setup another political party to rally the country to his cause he should have stuck with that to the end. Either way his "principles" would have remained intact.

The issue here is, his "principles" fall under question not for leaving the JLP neither for setting up the NDM but for returning to the JLP and abandoning the NDM. This means not ALL in the JLP will trust him and many in the NDM have been betrayed - ironically both were betrayed but politrix being what it is corruption and spin is the name of the game.

Bruce however, cannot spin his way out of this issue regardless of his debating skills. I can poke holes in his defence and I am no great political debater - the real people on the streets can see it for what it is.

Still the JLP has won and jamaica has to wait and see what they have allowed themselves in for. I hope he proves me wrong and those "principles" start to take effect ASAP for the sake of those living in jamaica - let us wait and see??

Come on Mor4us, you know its not like that, I know you don’t believe its just a simple walk away and forming a third party. You don’t and wont know the amount of wrangling that went on, you don’t and wont know how hard it was for him to do what he did, but in the end he had to do what he did and with no regrets
(Please understand all I am saying is my personal opinion), Among other things, he was concern that the JLP was not going in the right direction, and after been kicked about by PJ, PNP, there was no question that it was not, so he suggested some fundamental changes within the party, and made proposals for change, he further proposed that should the party be successful at the poles policies for the betterment of the Country. Some within believe the changes were too drastic and some believe change was not necessary, some believe otherwise

A lot more, which I cannot get into, but I will say this, had he continue in the party, wrangling and fighting (JLP) it would have been torn apart as it was split right down the middle, Bruc-e and Eddy on opposite sides. What then should he have done?
To stay and fight would be useless, you don’t know, the man who he was fighting against, I have much respect for him but he is a tough cookie. So instead of the continued infighting in my opinion he did the right thing. Walk with his principles and credibility still in tack

So to make his argument for change without fighting a man who he grew up with and respect, the party of his dad, and second dad Hugh Shearer, he was convinced by others who believe in his new and different approach to politics, saw and believe in his dream for Jamaica and together they form the NDM.
This he did not do lightly; it was done after much consideration as I said before he was comfortable walking away from the JLP and politics all together, but was convinced that he should take the opportunity to show Jamaica another way, even if it meant the sacrifice of his own political career. He did just that, contested a seat on the NDM ticket, which he lost.
You and I know that third party in Jamaica don’t go no where, he was convinced he could change that, he believed in his message of hope for Jamaica through the NDM, but the message was lost, many embraced them but that’s was as far as it goes. So again what would you have him do?
He leaves the NDM in capable hands and walk away from politics. Certainly there was disappointment, certain members felt let down, up to today people like Brasco Lee and few others are mad.

On his return to the JLP
Again I am certain you know the facts behind his return, but since you have forgotten here its is. It was the JLP that sought his return, not he like many who leaved, beg and kiss Mr. Seaga ring to return. He did not for one moment waver from his original position, many who believe in him beg for his return some become negotiators between him and Mr. Seaga, in the end a compromise was reached, so he returns,
If that is flip flap then its over, the Jamaican people have forgive him and alas here he is today PM of Jamaica.

it is the heartbeat of any government.

to not care about policies enstated and those who are enstating it is to give up your rights as a human being and allow yourself to be ruled in any which way.

True, people take polictics to hard especially in Jamaica...way too seriously. But politics is about how you and i wanted our country to turn out and that in place needs policies which is politics.

Firstly, when portia, realised that jlp had won, the first thing she did was to bash and call people criminals, WHO IN THERE RIGHT MIND WOULD DO THAT ON LIVE TV!!!, with political fanactics on both sides.

In contrast to that, what golding said, about if you see your pnp brethen offer him a drink.

Who is more interested in keeping up this tribalistic nature of country,and you think you have a right no...audacity to say bruce goldign is a flip or flop vs portia, not even PJ, norman manley would do such careless thing as portia had done after losing an election.

Let it be known that this is not the JLP that people know. It`s the JLP of the unknown.
We`re in uncharted waters.
Those of weak hearts and dinasouric minds can cower up in insecurity and call out foul like how Mother P did in all her limitations and weaknesses for all to see.

The woman didn`t know that the more she exposed herself, the more she revealed her shot-comings.

Bruce Golding has it all now in his hands to encourage entrepeneurs, to encourage investment, micro and macro, to create an enviroment that the minds of imagination can find opportunity in a uniformed and civil way to include as much Jamaicans as is possible.

We have a whole 3 and more generations to educate into thinking of making this Jamaica get back its flagship status and more than what it was a struggling 3rd world inconvenience and nuisance, thanks to the dinasours of the PNP who put party before country and corruption as a means to their filthy salvation.

With Edward Seaga out of the picture and a new government in place with the help of the PNP (whoever is leading)the possibility exist for this to happen. I for one hope this comes to fruition ......

Have you read the manifestos?
It should be more than obvious that given the poor economic state of the country and the lack of performance in the past that very, very few of the ideas that are put forward on each party's wish list can be accomplished.

The problems due to poverty cannot be addressed under the system as it is.
The increasing violence is actually exacerbated by loyalties to the two parties.
You all got rid of Manley and put Seaga in and the country degenerated.
You all got rid of Seaga put (thye reformed) Manley back in and the country degenerated.
Then P.J. then Portia and the country degenerated.

NOW you're going to do it again.

Why bother voting if you're not able to vote for change of direction?

Why isn't this obvious to you?
You cannot go on faith in something that has never worked.

I do understand the Jamaican reluctance for change and the propensity for big musical rah-rah political rallies and speeches that mean nothing but when is enough enough?
