Q3210: Bruce is a bright boy. He understands that anything that he has ever said will come back to bite him in the butt. Given the appalling state the country has been left in I don't blame him for having a large cabinet. He has many complex issues to deal with to and (I assume)he needs as much expertise as he can get. The cabinet, on the whole, is a MEAN TEAM!

I want to see what he does by the end of the 100 days.

Add to the task of putting to an end the corrupt `excessive cost over-runs syndrome` that the PNP stood by nonchalantly without even a wave of the hand in non-acknowledgement.

That issue alone could take care of a number of Bruce`s proposed welfare projects.

Another thing to do is to take the Lotto franchise away from private hands and let it be a tool to financing some hard core projects that the People of Jamaica and not a group of tribalist can benefit.

One thing he will have to do better in that regards (separation of powers) is to de-mystify the concept, so that the grass root, man/woman in the street can understand what it means.

Aahhhh, Q the battle as just began not for the success of Jamaica but for the failure of Bruce Golding.
Now my good friend Remo seems to be suffering from the same malaise that many overseas Jamaicans suffer, when they come to write about Jamaica. The limited news they pick up on the Internet, does not allow them to pick up the complex nuances of issues that at best are not fully understood by many of us who even live here.
Having said that, knowing how he hate laborites, I think that he has made some attempt to present things as he see it, or base on what his cousin told him, things he believe are facts.
Given that he is lacking of real facts may not be entirely his fault but perhaps due to his limited “on the ground” experience, I forgiven him.

How soon we began to jump down the throat of Bruce, and forget where we are coming from, and the changes he will have to make.
He as a tremendous task ahead of him, to change the state of a Country, a Country described by no other than Prime Minister PJ Patterson, describing politics as it is in Jamaica today, he said an I quote “A fight for scarce benefit and political spoils, carried out by hostile tribes which seem to be perpetually, at war, dividing rather than uniting the Nation”.
People like Monsgr. Richard Albert who said “People are leaving (Jamaica) not because of poverty or the political system, but because of lack of hope” And listen to the voice of the corrupted like Dr. Peter Phillips “In Jamaica, the man who plays by the rules is the man who gets shafted” Samuel Younis, prominent Business man and PNP stalwart “To succeed in business in Jamaica you have to be corrupt”The Most Hon. Portia Simpson-Miller lament on the “sense of hopelessness” which over took large section of the society all of these happen under his party Government, I could go on and on.

Bruce Golding today is the Prime Minister base on recognizing that there are a mass of people , growing in different level of the Society who recognize that we are at the cross roads. They saw the need for change in Politics and Government as usual and that is what he has pledged and I know will give his life to do so.Gods guidance I wish my friend

I came back to the UK in 1998. I was astounded at the amount of working class Jamaicans who had moved to the UK in my absence (10- years in JA). The number of illegal immigrants to the UK was growing at such a rate that the British Govt implemented a visa system for the first time. What was happening in the 90's in JA why so many Jamaicans were doing ANYTHING to get out? Simple--PJ/ PNP

And If I may add,he have made it clear that he will support and enact laws that support whistle blowers, Concerned Citizens and organization like Jamaica For Justice as he recognize the fact that such groups function effectively and efficiently when the Constitutional Structure allows for sanction of the Government, sanction which be to ensure compliance. No other Prime Minster in the history of Jamaica have ever even thought of the possibility of given the citizen rights to hold their Government accountable, and the power to sanction them. he will make Governmnet transparent, nothing to hide.

What is happening my friend The PNP lackeys are afraid of the success he will have in these areas including that of free Education and Health Care.

A fear just ocurred to me. MLK died a young man. Gandhi wasn`t that old either.
When a public figure projects so much hope, I fear that life becomes numbered.
I really hope that no fanatic like Gandhi`s fanatic hindu assassin, like the cover-up Kennedy assasin, Lee Harvey Oswald and the guy who killed MLK do not come along and take away this relatively young and untried mind from our midsts, God Forbid!

Your concern is well founded, but let not your heart be troubled he is in good physically condition, (The man is from the roots of St. Bess, you forget, how strong we from that root are?) he is very health conscious too, but we know and is aware that hateful hearts and evil minds exist.
