Politician’s son held for illegal gun

The son of well-known politician, Phyllis Mitchell has found himself in big trouble with the law.
30-year-old Steve Augustus Mitchell of Debbie Court in Kingston 8 was held allegedly with an illegal .357 magnum with five live rounds.
The son of the former Member of Parliament and People's National Party candidate, was picked up Tuesday night along Manor View Drive popularly known as "Cuba".
According to Head of the Police Flying Squad, Deputy Superintendent Cornwall "Bigga" Ford, Mr. Mitchell started crying and admitted to the police that he had 15 additional rounds inside a studio he operates in the area.
The police reportedly found the rounds in the area he indicated.
DSP Ford says Mr. Mitchell is being held without bail until investigations are carried out to determine if the firearm is linked to any crime.
