Wednesday, 07 November 2007
The Flying Squad on Tuesday night arrested two men and recovered a Toyota Corolla motor car belonging to the Jamaica Constabulary Force which appeared to have been stolen.
The men were held on Lady Huggins Avenue in Kingston 8 during a police operation.
Deputy Superintendent Cornwall "Bigga" Ford told RJR News the car bore the registration plates 2107 DP.
But he said further investigations revealed that the car was a police service vehicle which originally had registration plates 2026 66.
He said the vehicle was assigned to the St. Catherine South Police Division but had not been reported stolen.
DSP Ford disclosed that the Flying Squad now has 25 cars in their possession which were recovered in recent weeks.
He says the Department is now running out of room to store the vehicles and is therefore asking persons who have had vehicles stolen to visit the Flying Squad on East Queen's Street to reclaim their vehicles.
