The recent JLP election of its leader leaves me to ask, why are we stuck with an elected leader of a political party, elected by the party delegates who will by that virtue be automatically in line for the office of prime minister?
The delegates of the JLP electorate are less than a miniscule % of the adult voter aged public of Jamaica. Why are we not voting for a prime minister? Why are we voting for a party?
Same goes for the PNP.
The political culture has produced nothing but corruption that favors the ruling party. It has left the Jamaican people behind in oblivion.
Not until we the people see the imbalances of this culture and have the will to change it, we will forever be pawns to the powers that be.
