I want a Jamaica free of all marauding gunmen and criminals,just like the next person,but I am not prepare to tolerate some gunmen and criminals........simply because they go around in police uniforms.

This is like something that is non-sensical, because what I wrote does not imply what you responded with...
Plus, in contrast to yours, and other similar postings, there are a lot of Jamaican citizens who openly state that if the elimination of violent criminals means some encroachment on their human rights, then so be it...
This does not suggest that these people would like their human rights to be completely eroded. <span style='font-size: 11pt'>I believe some human rights organizations in Jamaica exist solely to protect the rights of violent and anti-social criminals</span>, possibly to serve the interests of certain powerful people who benefit from the terror created by gunmen. <span style='font-size: 11pt'>The same gunmen who stuff ballot boxes, and frighten off anyone who does not support the political status quo in these inner-city communities.</span>

i always find it funny how people will accept certain tings a farrin (rule of law, police shootings of innocent people & such) with protests & demonstrations but when it comes to jamaica everything must be answered with violence...
like someone said earlier j'cans can't have it both ways...either you respect a society of laws or you accept a society of corruption & lawlessness...
yes the j'can police are out of control but as long as the type of violence & gangsterism going on in jamaica is accepted as just the normal cost of doing business, how can the country prosper aside from tourists & rich absentee landowners?
what about the common jamaican or the one in exile inna farrin...is it not their jamaica too?

That is exactly my point,the things some of us wouldnt accept a farrin is exactly the same thing some people are here advocating should be acceptable in Jamaica.

when police shoot black people in america people protest and demonstrate,but when police murder black people in Jamaica they are saying it should be tolerated.

I dont care much what anyone want to say,and they can run off their mouths till they are blue in the face,but I will maintain my point,which is that I dont see any difference between police murdering people,and gunmen murdering people...its all part of the continuing violence,..the police are not a part of the solution,..they are a part of the same problem.

I am big enough to tell anyone that while Jamaica is in the current state it is I have absolutely no bloody intention to go there to live,...but it is still my Jamaica as much as it is anyone else`s,and my family live there,...and anyone of them could fall victim to a trigger happy idiot in a police uniform,and they dont have to be a criminal...just live on the wrong side of town.

In any case,the majority of internet armchair pundits who support extra judicial murders in Jamaica are themselves loathed to go back to live in Jamaica,so the issue of who would live there and who isnt is a moot point,otherwise we would all be having this conversation in Jamaica,...not just from the relative comfort of our armchair somewhere very far from Jamaica.... kissteet

yuh know is one ting if the police were really killing of criminal in an effort to clean up the place ..what people rufuse to understand is that in many cases police are acting as asassins for various causes (maybe is political ..maybe its criminal) but bad men are allowed to go on about their business unless they cross sombody.
