Murder rate shoots up

With one week into the new year, the police are grappling with a string of murders across the country. The cops were kept busy last night as at least seven murders were recorded, including two double killings.
Figures obtained by RJR News show that the country has so far recorded 25 murders since January 1.
Last year, the country recorded nearly 12-hundred murders.
The Police High Command has stepped up its anti-crime initiative "Operation Resilience" to target criminal gangs across the country and curb major crimes.

Last year 1209.…. Previous year 1095.....2011 it was round 1200... t the beginning of the year Bunting was on about the success I of his crime strategy..... Then they held him up.....

Martin Henry did a piece last Sunday on a statement Bunting made on that this 1200 was due to a murders spurt at the end of the year ...but it was back to the normal rate of 91 murders per month instead of the high of 100 per month..

U know Evan over the twenty years of the Northern Ireland troubles the death toll was a sum total of 1250...less than the number killed in one year in Jamaica as that number does not include police shooting or lawful killings...IIT is part of our culture...
