So any preparation for independence was momexistent amd was done by the colonial masters. Since even under thcolonial rule, the governor who was english had to sign every law,and any law he does not like he would advise and ui would not pass the house,to get to his desk.
After independence ir conrinued more or less as it did until Michaen manley in 72 decide to make a change toiwards real independence. Well we all know how that went. </div></div>

Women in the Bahamas got the vote in 1962!! Same year as Jamaica's Independence. Black majority rule came in 1967 elections. Independence came in 1973.
