so i did the tuneups and unchecked a few things and it is not really any faster. bottom line yuh really need ovah 2gb to run this thing so that you dont think you are using a 486

Not really, as I'm zomming along fine with just 1GB of RAM. Try cleaning your registry with this free Registry Cleaner, but make sure you do create a restore point or backup the registry first.
