Driving With the A/C on.

How much more gas does it really take to drive with your air on in the car?

I am trying this hypermiling thing that withcy mentioned and I really want to see if I can increase my mileage.

I have heard some people say that the difference in fuel usage is negligible. What you think?

It depends:

If you are on the highway yuh waa use your A/C. As Bizi sey, yuh wi get too much wind drag. However, if you are driving local roads with stop and go, you want to turn off the A/C.

On a hot day wen di heat hit yuh inna traffic, yuh may sey, "to heck wid hypermiling!"

Whe yuh hav, stick or automatic?

even wid de window dem down pan de hwy yuh still a save more den wid de AC on.
Driving to fla wid smaddy else who had a similar veekle, they used AC all the time I had my windows down. They had to stop about an hour and a half for gas before I did.

MIlo I dunno if this helps but on Saturday I took mom to the salon it wasn't my time so I sat in the car with the AC on.

in 3 hours I went down 0.75 of a gallon (I know this because I calculated the mileage on di sinting weh tell u how much mile yuh have leff when mi park and from dat mi minus wat mi had leff) den mi calculate how much mpg mi get pan mi cyar.

I get antsy if I sit still at a red light for more than a minute. Mom is lucky to have a patient daughter like yourself.

D, mi hav couple questions. Did yuh convoy friend initially filled up the same place and time as you did right before the trip? Did you always fill up the same time as he/she did after that? Also, I assume you hung with eachother, all di way while driving, or did you have pre arranged meeting place to stop via cell phones calls?

we met in NY, filled up in jersey and drove to FLA. The next time mi fill up same place, but aftah dat mi decide fi si how much longah mi cyan guh and it was bout an hour b4 I needed to fill up again.
