I was just wanting to carry the laptop and charger separately from my normal travel bag.. Any space in the laptop backpack for other items is just bonus space.
For plane trips, I would have a separate and stylish bag for magazines, passport and all other manner of girly stuff
I found one fabulous and cute laptop bag with wheels and a pull lever. It also had tons of room for all of my other air travel items so I wouldnt need two bags when travelling.
However, at $240 USD, I am kinda hestitating

if you have touched & felt it and absolutely love it then I would say go for it you work hard and your bag has to work hard too

Maybe I need to rethink how I want to carry things. I just hate having my hands filled with too many things. It is when you are leaving the airport with your other checked bags that I want to avoid being bogged down with items I must carry.
This the the one that I saw that would eliminate having 2 bags to carry on flight but can also hook comfortably to my checked luggage when departing the airport:
okaaay. I am digging the 2nd link you added for the Sumdex backpack. That is much better looking

It is a cute bag & I do see some women in airports with them.. just reading the stats on the bag.. it weighs 8.8lbs before you add your stuff to it.. so figure another8lbs for the laptop, then architectural digest,Real Simple and People... plus papers , laptop charger, granola bars, make up, passport, de liquids bag, etc.. u bout 20 lbs a carry.
The advantage is that you can wheel & run and just have 1 bag (I use a wristlet wallet when traveling)
Personally I like the backpack cause you dont have to worry about it on the escalators or dragging it when you have to run to the gate like some of us did last monday

u know I didnt factor in the added weight Kia which makes sense to do. If the goal is to feel less weighed down when travelling, a bag that heavy doesnt make sense. ~sigh~
I guess I cant have it all
PDB, does your sister like that backpack? Does she feel like it protects her laptop well?
