I started filling out a form online when half way through I noticed it was recommended that the form be downloaded directly to the computer and working from there rather than filling it out on the browser. I quickly erased it but is it too little too late? Has my information been etched somewhere in cyber space?

Littleman says:
If you didn't press a next, or continue button, it may not be in cyberspace, but it is in your browser's cache, and if your browser is configured to remember form info, it will definitely have it stored.
Point is, someone can still recover your info, especially if you have a keylogger program on your computer. So if privacy is your game, get a program like Window Washer, etc. and clean that cache. Or set your browser to clean its cache, and erase form data.
Of course you never asked for the additional info, but privacy is a big issue nowadays.
