As an iPhone user I am eager to hear of what you think of the instinct. It looks like a really great phone.
It suppose to have a better camera, better SMS features and a better GPS display than the iPhone. Not to mention it is being offered at a much better price.
Live TV is choppy
It freezes up sometimes
You cannot log onto certain things on the internet. I tried posting on here from it and it didnt work.
I think the screen is a bit too small.
I dont think you can DL movies on it
sometimes you have delays when typing
no instant messaging
i think i would much rather an operating system like windows mobile or something
plus...
The GPS is like your garmin or better. awsome GPS and accurate
The internet can be fast if you have full strong signal
i like the music function. i DL music from my computer straight to the phone
I wish the screen was bigger though and wish i didnt have to scroll around the screen to read everything. i wish everything fit on the screen.
Im gonna check out the HTC touch diamond. i might upgrade to the touch pro. i heard the touch diamond is better.
I can probably live without the instant messaging (although most younger folks couldn't) but from the little I know about the instinct it does not offer a WiFi connection. I guess the thinking was that with G3 connectivity, WiFi is now an afterthought. I still love the freedom the iPhone gives you to connect via WiFi when at the airport, library, mall or coffee shop etc... to download podcast, tv shows and movies however.
I guess all these phones have a trade off, just depends which one is more suited to your lifestyle.
Yes, I've heard the same things you have and I hope its all true . I also heard that as expensive as the iPhone is, you guys can't get it insured. Please say this isn't so?
Kingy, what kind of plan do you have? With phones like this, it requires you to have a data plan. The one I have with Sprint is the Simply Everything.....$120 per month after taxes
It sounds like your issues are because you don't have a data plan. Then again, I could be so wrong. When I get my phone, I will let you know my issues.
As for the GPS, I don't like the phone versions....so I purchased the Magellan Roadmate now this thing is awesome
Keep in mind, these phones are computers so you will have similar issue to that of a PC or laptop.
I have the everything plan. only my daytime minutes are limited to 450. everything else is unlimited. no it does not have wifi. i love the Iphone idea and wanted that but the ATT plans are rediculous. i pay roughly 80 bucks. while with the att plans, you are looking at a good 150 or so. I like big nice wide screen phones like the Iphone and the new black berry storm.
T...the gps is awsome of this phone. its precise and it tells and show you everything.
Up here we have a company named "Rogers" which is also hated. I'm paying them approx. $71 CDN. (approx. $55 USD). for a plan that sounds pretty much like the "everything' plan you guys are describing.
However, as I live by myself, I got rid of my land line, so that is saving me some money.
Since I have been a customer of Sprint since dem wasnt called Sprint (yes, before di dicovery of dirt ), I get "to try" phones without upgrading fees and all the other stuff....
anyhow, i tried the Instinct...
sent it back...all the touch screen features (the rage) were cool. Loved, loved, loved the GPS. But checking email and surfing the net was the worst. The onscreen keyboard was plain old dumb. Needless to say... took it back and now I have the Samsung ACE.
