I'm burning some CD's. (Yes still doing that in 2014) and would like to burn (scribe) a photo label on the cover of the disc. The LightScribe website is not longer in operation.

Does anyone know of any software that will allow me to burn a label on a CD?

Been a while, but IIRC some of the older Roxio versions supported lightscribe. Dunno if you know how to use torrents, but different versions of Roxio are available out there. If you're paranoid like I am about security, use a Virtual machine to load software like that. VirtualBox and Virtual PC are free. You'd have to dig up your operating system disk though.

So basically, download the virtual software and load it.
Load the operating system in the Virtual machine.
Load the torrent software, and find the Roxio stuff.
Download, load roxio.
Do a test burn.

A bit of a PITA, but sometimes you haffi do what you haffi do.

I fund a media kit in Office Depot that worked pretty well. One of those Avery label makers for CD's. I would have preferred the burn, but hey.....

I went poking around and found that Roxio does have it, but as I recalled, it was old. I found something in their support forum from back in 07 and 08.

The labels I've used eventually curl up in the heat of the car and cause issues. To think that CDs are going to go the way of the cassette tape eventually...
