I want to swap and use the flat screen monitor with the other computer. Simple task, or so I thought. Only one computer will work with the flat monitor. The big back monitor will show a picture for all three computers. I took the laptop to the office and I can get a picture when I attach it to the flat panel I have at work.

What could be the problem? Do I need to adjust something?

BTW, the computer that the flat monitor does work on, is the oldest of the three of them. </div></div>Tge old driver that is needed is probably not on the computer. try identify the model and upload the driver to the computer,then connect it.

Yuh need a driver fi monitors too? Me nevah know dat. Me know dout printer, mouse, keyboard and dem odda plug ins.

I'll check that out.

<span style="font-size: 8pt">Me hope him not sending me on no wild goose chase.</span> </div></div>you need a driver for ever appliacne,even the ones inside an the softwares. it is just that the computer Bios and OS have most of them,but there are cases when sopme may be missinf or otherwise currupted,then you hcave to install them.

The low level driver to operate any Monitors are Native in Windows but a driver written specifically for the Device may turn on functions that the low level driver cannot not.

The problem you are having is that you computer is set to display setting for Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) while you are now plugging in a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), typically Windows will automatically detect the change and switch on the low-level driver for the device but if your computer is set in the BIOS to ignore the Plug and Play Operating System or the Monitor might not support Plug and Play.

You can still get it working to Low-Level LCD by:
Turing off the system
Attaching the LCD Monitor
Booting your computer in Windows Safe Mode.
Then Right Clicking on the Desktop choose settings
The Advance tab and follow the setup to choose Plug and Play LCD Monitor.
It would help if you know the name of your Monitor and Download the Drivers before hand if they are not found in your version of Windows.

Me go online, but is one emachines monitor and dat eeidat company removes online drivers from product over one year old.

EMachine does not manufacture monitors, So you may have to liik on the monotor for the manufacturer, and model, then download it and install it before you plug in the monitor.
i think kthat emachine is owned bt gateway. So check their site too.

You can do all that when you have the working monitor connected, then reboot. Also, do a Google search for the nmame of your drivers, or monitor model number drivers.

That's what I figure I will do when I get home. Just wanted to give Gong a hard time.

I am leery about downloading drivers from anywhere other than the manufacturers website. Do you know of a reputable driver download site?

If you would have <span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">followed</span> the instructions it would have worked.
<span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">Booting in Safe Mode</span> would have turned on the Low-Level Drivers.

Hard fi tell. However, most yuh find are OK. I jus try di driver, if it noh wuk, or infect mi, mi jus duh ah quick re-format, an reload mi back-up. In less dan 15 min, mi back up clean as a whistle.

The info says I should push one of the function keys to start in safemode. But I guess my timing is off, because I press the key, but nothing happens. Not sure if I have to press F# during a small window of opportunity.

And I tried to set it up ahead of time, but I don't see the plug and play option.
