someone gave me a cd with some songs for a school show that I need to make a copy (ie burn to another cd).

I can play the songs from the CD directly.

I copied the files to my hard drive.

to test if the songs worked ok I removed the CD and tried to play the songs from the 'C' drive.. no luck.

What am I doing wrong?

Ideally I would like to put the songs on another CD as well as email them (they are small files) but how do I ensure the files will work?

When you copied them what did you use, itunes, media player ar sittin else?
Or did you just copy them as data?

Don't you have supm like nero or record now on your pc weh yuh cyan just load and make a copy?

If I'm going to email music I'd convert then to mp3 fuss.
I use musicmatch for that.

i used copy & paste -- why ie can be just simple as dat

these are not itunes files.. but if I copy them in itunes will it work?

I'm not an itune user, but you must have supm pan yuh pc weh yuh usually use fi jus copy an bunn cd?

yes.. and is today dem gi mi de disk.. but worse case scenario I can email it to dem mek smaddy else hot dem head ova it

As D pointed out you can not copy and paste straight from a regular CD. You need to go through the conversion process, usually (done in the background) through one of the well known rip programs, however, other not so well known, are also available.

When you copy and paste you are only copying pointers back to the source.
