Where's the thread about background music on puter?

there's some stupid commercial or radio or some eediat station playing on my computer and it's not showing up on my menu bar so i can't turn it off.

there was a thread about that recently, can someone pls point me in the direction ofthat thread?

check your close program box. Or click on your'history icon in your browser, and see if it is not listed there then do a search and remove it.

dr. dudd, if u mean task manager box, it doesn't show up there. as for a search, i don't even know what i'm searching for.

it's like it something that was sneaked onto my puter without any visuals or any tabs or window of its own.

o dang it's annoying.

</div></div>First you have to look at your 'history' in the browser.
and you should find pages that you have been including the popups that are attached to them. just keep openning them until you see the one.
to find search, click the srart ocon an it should be with programs etc.

I get it on the laptop with the vista but don't get it on the PC with WinXp.... I have to close out all the browsers each time it happens

You have a window in your browser that is playing an active flash. Scroll down and see where it is. You may also be having tow or more Youtube windows playing simultaneously in different browser tabs.

thanks, j-kid and dr. dudd. unfortunately, none of your suggestions worked. the problem went away when i opened up the control panel and i guess something shut the thing up.

but at one point i was looking at my desktop, no programs running, and i still heard the bloody radio.

</div></div>You did not open history and close the pages in 'today' one by one. Or as you close the page that it is attached to it would stop. Then all you have to do is to go back to history and copy it then paste it in 'search files' and it will bring up the files. right click and then scroll, down to properties. highlight it and you get the address, then delete ir from the address.

That is how I get rid of these errant flash files.
If you don't erase it it is still there. Usually divided into a number of pieces and stored in a number of separate files to make it difficult to fund and remove.
