After downloading the latest version of messenger, how do I get rid of the old version? I tried to uninstall but no luck. It keeps trying to sign in, even when I'm already signed in with the new version. :verymad: I know it's hiding somewhere, but where?

don't you mean windows messenger?
It's almost identical to msn messenger, only it's installed with windows.
I've had that kind of prob, and i also tried uninstalling windows messenger, but no luck.
I finally gave up, and told windows messenger to stop starting up when windows starts.
So now it's still in my system, but it doesn't bug me anymore -

Normally if you download the upgrade or a new version it just writes over the new file. This sounds a little strange...have you tried the MSN help page...

Yes it is windows messenger, but since one is windows messenger and one is msn messenger, the version of windows messenger remains, even though it ask you to update to a newer version of msn messenger. Sneaky [img]/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]
