umm hotmail

hmmm cant log into my hotmail acct for most of the day today, yet msn messenger works and kindly tells me that I have messages.. :verymad:

anyone else have this experience?

For the last 6 mths I have not been able to log on to hotmail thru IE...but MSN messenger works......however, I can log on thru Mozilla.....took me a while to figure this out....why ...I am not sure if DH did some housecleaning and did something...anyhoooooo

I went through Mozilla and IE but still nothing..
'Operation Timed out when attempting to connect to www.hotmail.msn.com'

Not to mention the same time out messages here for 'page2ad.googlesyndication.<somethingorthe other>

I also had problems with the link above that you provided, however got through to the sign-in page here:

You don't need the WWW.

umm nope.. that doesnt work.

doesnt work with the win 2000 nor the XP computers.. going to check on the win98 one..

also upgraded to XP service pack 2 on the XP pc, win2000 did not need any updates.

MSN messenger 6.2 is on the 2000 and the XP but hotmail was working until Wed.

**edited to add ** doesnt work with win 98*** now going to check and update router firmware.

Seems like whenever Microsoft get involved in something, they leave a trail of problems.

It is possible that your Java manager is either, being blocked, deactivated or missing.

Java is not being blocked, deactivated nor missing .. checked that.

You of to enter you password the same way as how type it when you first register.

Its case sensitive, if you register the password in cap then you of to type it the same way when you log in.

I did get the problem resolved yesterday AM. No thanks to Microsoft support & their weeny responses [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

It was a technical issue relating to the router.

Hmmmm I seem to get through fine.... No problems what so ever.

Still I know hotmail is not very robust. you get what you paid for.

I use MSN Explorer to access my hotmail account.

morpheous, it was a router issue.. and it is now the backup email accts.. I use my isp for my more important mail.

Zeen...zeen, well I assume most people on the net use their ISP's mail box. Sites like yahoo, hotmail, bigfoot, ukonline etc. are used for miscellaneous/anonymous mails since one can make up any name and details whilst signing up. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
