Serious Error has occurred

My computer screen jus went black the it went blue and and error message came up and Windows shut down to prevent further damage
what does this mean
My computer ws still runing so I rebooted and then when it started up Windows said that "The system has recovered from a serious error"
Help!! Whats happening here

I did the microsoft error report and this is the reply I got

Did you install something new recently, like a printer, scanner, camera, new video card etc? Maybe something is wrong with the driver.

Dsiconnect it and uninstall the driver and see if the problem goes away. A system restore may also cure the error message but not the problem, because if you reinstall the bad driver it will happen again.

I forgot, you seem to have a Dell, and can get forum support at the dell web site

Bill Gates buggy operating system strikes again, and as usual dem noh hav ah clue of exactly wha ah gwaan! Sue jus keep an eye out to see if it re-occurs and under what conditions.

Sweets...if I were you, I'd start saving any files you may not want to lose.

That sounds eerily familiar to what happened to my Dell before it went belly (hard drive) up.

I did not install anything recently at all
