Printer question again

okay please help me spend some more money this year

I currently have two printers:

1.Colour Inkjet AIO - for scanning which I need to do virtual faxing, plus to print color pictures etc.

2. B&W Laser printer - for work. Too expensive to print large batches on an inkjet since the ink cartridges dont last long.

I want to replace the Color Inkjet AIO with a Color Laser AIO.
I need a scanner capabilities but dont want to purchase a separate unit because space is at a premium in my office.

So which brands do you recommend for Color Laser printers? I print high volumes at some points, so I need one where the paper output per cartridge is good.

I dont want to spend more than $500.

Go with an HP all-in one. I have all-in-one HP2610 Photosmart and I love it.



I have tried other model printers (Epson etc) but always come back to HP's. The prices on the HP color lasers are coming down.

The HPs are good, but don't forget to consider the price of the toner cartridges in your shopping. The printer itself may be reasonable, but the toner prices can provoke cause for reflection. The upside is that the cartridges tend to last quite a bit (dependent on usage of course), and the actual cost per copy is not bad.

Thank Xman. I have used an Epson before and disliked it intensely!

I am going to go check some out tomorrow. Someone else also said HP for InkJet so it seems like HP is a good brand overall for printers.

Mr. ChurchDude Yup I know that laser toners can be pricey. But for me it is more costly to print high volumes on an inkJet. So, per page cost per toner is still less on a laser

Hate HP printers with a passion ... would only use one if I got it free (I've taken up a few and just dropped them from up high out of frustration)... epson works for me but the price of the ink is a killer and most of the good ones the ink cannot be refilled.

Canon is another decent brand ...

The only printer I will say I hate is Dell Cause the drivers are unstable.

For Epson, I think you are referring to inkjet cartridges when I need color laser......

I scoped out some already and have narrowed my choices down to the following:


Hewlett Packard Colour LaserJet CM1312nfi Multifunction Machine



and

Lexmark X500n Colour Multifunction Machine

since u went there if I had to chose between HP and lexmark then HP gets the thumbs up. I was a HP supporter years ago and then when they merged with compaq a lot of crappy printers came out and I haven't been willing to try them since, once,twice,thrice bitten. the lasers haven't been bad though

Well I settled on a Brother Multifunction Laser printer DCP7040N.

It was on sale for approx $200, so I figured getting a few years worth out of it is worth the price....plus I am feeling cheap at the moment

Installed in a couple of days ago and working very well
-good printing speed
-great quality


Much better than the annoying and flaky Dell I had
