My Anti-Virus came on this morning say that tey have found a virus or worm on my PC they said that they were able to successfuly delete it but not dininfect it...

The Anti-virus said I should run a virus scan which I did and in total 3 viruses or worm was found a successfully deleted.

What does it mean when they say that they were not abe to disinfect it.

That mean your anti virus software can't remove the virus or can't access the file.

You need to go to www.microsoft.come/downloads and down load 3 and 4 on the list. It will put a security setting on your pc to get block the worm from your computer.

Need do it as soon as posible else its going to get worse.

I been through it few month ago.
I call microsoft and they tell me how to stop the worm.

The worm is attacking microsoft servers, so if you was using msn as your service provider like me.

You would have this popup come up on your screen and start a countdown to shut your pc down.

If you ever start having that problem.

THIS WHAT YOU WOULD DO:

1) Click the start button
2) Click on run and type this to stop your computer from shutting down --> SHUTDOWN -A

If catch virus there is more likely some one in your house is looking on porno web site. Cause thats where my computer get infected few month ago or infected email.

try to use email that allow you to view the email before you open it.
Example: hotmail, msn email, earthlink these email service allow you to view before open.

If using yahoo, myway email service you are more likely to be infected.

Cause one of my friend was surfing through one of those porn web site.

Now I don't let no one use my computer any more.
It cost too much money to fix and software is getting expensive.

Disinfect mean it cant clean the file, but if it deleted it then you are ok.

It can NOT put the file back to its original condition without damaging it, so therefore it deleted the file. This may cause your PC to act funny when it needs that file, if it was one of your system files. Keep close observation on the system.

one was some MNS thing and the other two was some sound file I think not sure

You didn't say what antivirus you got is it norton 2004?

Be aware of the sasser worm !!! Check your log files and quarintines on your antivirus.

if it is just an msn and/or sound file as you mention then you should be able to replace it by doing this:

On XP
-----
1. go to your control panel
2. select add/remove programs
3. select add/remove windows components
4. select the components you want to add and also clicking the detail button for further options
5. Click OK
6 reboot your machine
