The flat panel one that look like a big picture frame.

I am look foward to purchase one these television and people been telling me all kind of stuff about them.

Saying that ofter every four years the liquid crystal screen of to be refill. They told me it
only good for four years.

Do any one here such thing or there is any more to it I need to now before buying.

As far as I know, they use the same technology that they use for laptop monitor (LCD or Active matrix) screens, and thost don't require "re-filling".

HD-TV has to do with the circuitry inside the TV that decipher the broadcast picture and gives you more lines per inch to produce a much sharper picture on the screen. That circuitry is pretty much independent of the display panel or picture tube. You can get HD in tube or flat panel.

The Tube does affect the output of HD. Unless the thbe has the capabillity,it will not display the number of lined.
It is like buying a really large monitor for your computer nad reduce the dot pitch.

I would suggest you buy a HD ready flat panel,and later buy the stand alone HD decoder.
Incidentally I own a 10 year old TV that is HD ready,but does not have a HD decoder.
The picture quality is better when using a SVHS vcr,DVD and 6 head vcr,but they are not as detailed as HD.
