I've got a question!

Spyware - what is it, and how can I do a check on my pc to see if I've got it?

Go to BulletProofSoft.com and get their product. Searches for and removes adware and spyware.....as for explaining exactly what it is, I will leave that to the techies....but think of it as annoying, spying cookies (if you know what they are). If you have never removed them before, I bet you have thousands, literally. They do suck up system resources, and you will run better after you clean. The only thing I would suggest is that you not set it to clean automatically, but rather run it once a week or so. Let us know how you make out. Peace.

Spyware is any software that is designed to (mostly run in the back ground and) collect information about you, or your PC activities. This can take many form, from actually searcing for information to collecting all your key-strokes and mailing the info out that it collects. You can get spyware from various web sites that you or someone else may have visited, programs you downloaded, or stuff sent to you via e-mail.

Periodically running both SD Spybot and Lavasoft Ad-Aware will do a pretty effective jobe of finding and removing trojans and spyware. They are both free.

Make sure you also have good anti-virus software, as well as, a FIREWALL working in conjuction, to do an effective job. I recommend AVG anti-virus software. It is also free.
