UNLOCK AT&T phone to use in Jamaica

Bought a phone and wanted to give it to my uncle next week when i go to Jamaica......
How or where can i go to get the phone unlocked to use in Jamaica....
Its a motorola V505

My cousin took my old AT&T pphone and gave it to her mother in Ja. Her mom said the phone was locked- I gave her the secret code and it is nwo working fine.

Call up the phone company and ask them to unlock it or you may need a new SIMS card

I took my phone to Cable and Wireless (motorola V sumthing or other). They programmed it in a couple of minutes.

I went to MiPhone first and they told me I could only use this phone through C&W.

Oh yes, mine was an At&T phone as well.

You can call AT&T and have them unlock the SIM card. It might cost u if u go thru them though.

I would do like pepper and have C&W program it in Ja.

Digicel can do it too. As long as your phone uses a sim card.

Some places u might just have to purchase a new chip, which is pretty cheap anyway.

Thanks Z. We tried changing the SIM card last trip, but it didn't work.

I'll stop in Black River on my way in next trip.

Cause it gotta be unlocked/programmed 1st.
