Hehehe...NO J Kid, but you just had me about to loose my coffee over my keyboard!

I haven't used my heater since I used to work the midnight shift, Umm...about 8 or so years ago now. It wasn't as pretty as those in the photos, and it also ran on electricity. Our parking lot had electric hook ups so we could plug our cars in so it was free too! I'd have the heater plugged inside the car, the head bolt heater plugged in also, and in -20 I would go out to a warm car, it was great. I don't think I'd use one of the heaters in the photo overnight, for sure the battery would ded in the marning!

No, my battery ded because I abused it horribly! I have left the headlights on in daytime a few times, the dome light, you get the picture. I knew the battery was weak but the lines were long to wait for a new one and install. Today I'll go out and put a battery charger on it and see if I can revive it enough to get to town and get a new one!

You never mentioned how old the battery in your car was. Is it less than three years old?

Yeeessss!!!

A coupla hours on the battery charger did the trick! Now tomorrow is get a new battery day!!!


The battery in my car is about 3 years old but I've totally abused it. Last winter my car sat in the garage for close to a month with the dome light on, needless to say, that did it some damage. That, plus a few of those foggy or rainy days when I come home and forget to turn lights off. Battery abuse I'm tellin ya!

OK, I'm thinking that maybe the price of these Webasto Heaters might start to come down in price the same as the other new technology does with time. I'm about ready to sign up for one now, but maybe in a year or so they'll be a third of that price!

The price will drop if there is a demand for it or they launch an AD campaign. If more companies start to offer and promote the option in their vehicles then the public will become more aware of it.

From what I understand, the issue is to heat up your car without idling it. Which is laudable environmentally.

Some cars already have heated windshields and heated seats. You might have to deal with the car manufacturers. Installing a gadget like this would be a good thing for you car owners in N.America.

One might have to make these features redundant. I can understand this in N.America. In London, it is damp and humidity and there is a rise in A/C in cars here in the last 5 years.

Mi battery quit pan mi last night. Mi had was fi troubleshoot fi mek sure it was suppen else, but after mi isolate di problem mi also had was to goh an buy ah brand new battery.

Awwww....J Kid, I'm starting to feel like all I do is bring yuh trouble. First the name and now the battery! Well, my car got it's new battery yesterday AND I treated it to an oil change. One cannot be too kind to thier car, LOL!! We both ought to be good for a few years now in the car battery dept, if only I can remember not to leave the lights on during crap weather in the daytime!

Well di heater fan neva did ah come on inna di other car eida, soh mi sey since di wedda was 44 deg F, an mi inna di mood fi wuk pan cars, may sey tuh miself, mi may as well troubleshoot an fix dat deh wan also. Mi find di problem an will mek di repairs tomorrow, since dem sey it ago bi 50 deg F.

Yuh know, a lot ah di newer cars hav battery saver built into the electronics. It will shut off the interior, exterior lights, and other components after bout 20 minutes if yuh leave di car an figet any ah dem stuff turned ON by accident.

So J Kid, what was the problem that made your heater fan not work? Are you talking about the heat inside of your car? If so...BURRRRRRRR!



Did you fix it? What was the problem? Must ask, so if the same happens to me, I know where to look!

Yes I fixed the problem, and it was the inside heater. The problem was a corroded and burnt terminal at the resistor block.
