Blank screen

blank screen.

I have windows xp home edition, 1yr old computer, recently installed 30 day trials of spy sweeper/window washer which has since expired. then I installed EZarmor(free anti-virus/firewall). This is when the problems started.

Using IE, and Verizion dsl…

Windows Media player 10 was working fine but the following message pops up when I try to access “internal error”
when i’m logged onto Jamaicans.com, I don’t see the “last post dates” and I can’t use the “Instant Graemlins”.

When Logged onto shutterfly and tried signing in “a blank screen” comes up after input of id/password.

The same thing happens when I try accessing my hotmail account to login.

I tried the “system restore” but that screen comes up blank too.

What can I do to fix this?

No, I can't get to download the windows update service pak 2 because the screen comes up blank! LOL!

I'm also get the following message.

"Files that are required for Windows to run properly have been replaced
by unrecognized versions. To maintain system stability, Windows must restore the original
versions of these files.

Insert your Windows XP Home Edition CD-Rom now."

But when I insert the CD and put in the key code...there's not enough #s...it's asking for 25#s but there's only 20#s on the authencity(sp).

yikes, when you hose a operating system you go all out! From the sounds of it you are going to need to reinstall the OS. I checked my XP Pro key and its 25 characters long, do you have a legit version of XP or are we talking about a copy? If ya have a copy I suggest you go buy XP Home (the cool thing is current builds already have Service Pack 2 on the cd).

EZarmor screwed up your browsers ability to run scripts from the sounds of it. I did some reading and from what I can tell EZarmor is just a knock off of ZoneAlarm (right down to the tabs, layout and colors lol). I saw in a PM that you uninstalled EZarmor and the OS still screwed up. From here I can only think of 2 options since rollback didnt work. Either reinstall EZarmor and check the script blocking to see if you can correct the problem. Or you can reinstall the operating system. EZarmor changed some windows files when you installed it and that's why you get the:

Sorry mate, you are kinda up the creek without a paddle. If ya decide to try to fix EZarmor let me know how it goes.

One other thought. You could also try using your CD to Repair the OS install instead of a format/reinstall. I don't think it will work in this situation but its worth mentioning.

I take a crack at it when i get home tonite. And no, my XP is not a copy...this is a brand new computer i brought from the Home Shopping Club.
