Like to learn Patwa (patios)

We just got back from jamaica and we had a good time .We found a nice out of the way spot with not to many people ,stayed with a local family and felt like we were at home .We plan to go back in the fall and help a all age school with some building repair and then maybe we can get them some book and other things that they lost in the last big storm
.We would like to learn the local language and Iam finding it hard to get any audio tapes ??? We have down loaded some dance hall music but i think it will take a long time this way
I'm also looking for the the best credit card for good air miles rewards (OR CREDITS)we are looking to switch .If anyone can help THANKS MIKE IN VANCOUVER CANADA--P.S-- one more thing we cannot find any ackee here in vancouver

Good luck. It's not easy. The comprehension part is one thing but the intonation is very trickey. Apparently I arrived in this country (Canada) speaking patois. I had some trouble mastering standard English...I don't recall any of this as I was really young. Now, despite many attempts, I can only get a few phrases to sound authentic in patois. I do understand just about every word though and only rarely need translation. Sueusmba gives patois classes in Toronto at the beginner, intermediate and advonced levels.
