Saving a trip report.....

can anyone tell me how to save a trip report that's been posted on this site intact onto my hard drive?

I've tried a few ways unsuccessfully. Best I've been able to accomplish is a page at a time....

I'm sensing another site upgrade upon us...and the last time that happened...i lost a trip report that took a considerable amount of time and effort to write. Got one out there now, that i'd like to keep.

Any suggestions folks?

First change the view of your trip report to "Printer-friendly view of this topic" then one of the following
<ul type="square">[*]Option 1 --File, Save As, Click the down arrow next to "Save as type" and Select "Web Page, HTML only". Give a file name and Save in location you can find file later on.[*]Option 2 ---File, Edit with Microsoft Word (a very, very, very long process) and select default that pops up[*]Option 3 --- Highlight text in trip report and copy.....At the top of trip report, Select 1st post, hold down Shift key, and scroll down to last post, and copy and paste into a Word document. Save document[/list]

If it doesn't work for you, I can do it for you and send to you.

sassy....i tried this from an earlier pm you had sent me...but you didn't say the part about the printer friendly view in it....

here's your update SassyRas....

do you know how long it took for that printer friendly page to load on my computer? Damn dial up not so cooperative...I had to right click and load all the pics.

then i copied and pasted in word...well word didn't care for it. I think the file is just too darn big. Word seemed to be struggling to do whatever it was trying to do with all those pics.

So.............GB kindly offered to put the thing on a disc for me. Couple hours on this little project last night...

thanks for your help and kind offer though. I'm sure this works for smaller files...and people with a high speed connection.
