is this gonna be hard?

I have a website thru comcast. I used Frontpage to create it.

2 things I want to do:

1) I want to add a counter

2) I want a link that ppl can click and get an order form, then I'd like the form to be emailed to me.

Can anybody help me out with this (IN EASY steps)??? OR is this gonna be too hard for a beginner?

the counter is easy...you should be able to find free ones on the internet. They'll give you the code and you just add it to the page.

Do a search for free counters...lots of them out there.

The form may be a bigger challenge.

In order to have the form to mail you will need access to a mail server. To give you an idea of the scripting required I've included some sample scripts. This sample is used for creating a newsletter with a list server. There are 4 parts to make this work. 2 scripts (one to add email addy to list, and one to remove) and 2 forms (again one to add, one to remove).

This script wont work for you as written unless you are using Mailenable Pro as your mail platform.

Script 1:

In order to call the above scripts you need to have a html form to collect the data. From the above examples you would need two forms, one named html-form-1, and html-form-2.

Here is the sample html form code from a webpage:

Its a bit complicated at first, but really its fairly easy stuff once you understand the logic.

There is no other way around this Patty. If you want a form to mail function on your site then you will need to sort out scripting and the backend mail server before your form will work.

Don't want any scripting? Then stick to "mailto:[email protected]" functions. This makes the visitor use his mail client to send you mail so you don't have to have your own mail server.

You could also upgrade from comcast free webspace and get a domain and a cheap host. If you did get a new host they can help you sort out these details (and save you from getting headaches trying to sort out scripting).
