It is official router is dead

My faithfully and trusty router of 8 years passed away last night.

It struggled over the weekend, trying to hold on to a signal but alas after everyone had gathered to say goodbye it shed its non-mortal coils

Let us bow our heads in honor of its long and well lived life serving my needs with little fuss or fanfare

RIP to your router.

I was having so much trouble with mine that I finally gave up and rent one for 5 bucks a month from the phone company but it is trouble free and has a perfect record so far. No more problems here. Good luck Nylah!

Thank you for your condolences Nanook.

I really liked my Netgear router I had signal strength issues but other than that it was easy to use and not any hassle.

It has been dropping the signal and power to the unit over the last 2 months. Last week was brutal cause I couldnt use it for more than a couple hours at a time before it would just stop working. It would regain consciousness an hour later only to laspe into another coma again


It was on its final leg this weekend and has been replaced by a Linksys model.

I still have much love for my Netgear just cause it lasted so long

It was ah faithful and dedicated friend. There will never bi another one like it. Maybi yuh can hav it stuffed and mounted on yuh fire-place, and keep as pleasant reminder of di good times?

Yuh can take comfort in knowing dat it is in ah better place, and feeling no pain anymore.

Brillant idea about giving my old faithful router a spot on the mantel You're so thoughtful

8 years is a good good life I feel, so I am celebrating its passing. I dont think however that Linksys will be as good as ole Nettie though

Check the firmware version on the unit and see if there are any updates. Some of the updates deal with security access to the router and should be loaded if available.
