Anyone has any experiences with HP Officejet all- in-one (Fax, Print, Copy, Scan). I am particularly interested in how easy it is to use as a network computer in a home office.

Re: Feedback on any HP Officejet all-in-on
I've used them in the past here at the office. The only cost issue on these machines is the ink they use. Before you buy any brand open up the machine and check the size of the ink cartridge, then go over to their ink refill/replacement section of the store and see what new catridges cost. I've noticed some really cheap printers, but then I realize its the monthly ink cartridges that they make their money from. Don't fall for this trap. A good machine should have a large ink cartridge and the refill cartriges should be under $35.00 a pop. Also make sure the machine holds a good amount of paper (1/4 ream or so).
I kinda hate fax machines due to all the unsolicited spam faxes ya get from fax.com (the sleezebags). Most the time its either spam, or you cant read the text due to poor quality. So I tend to consider faxes worthless but your mileage may vary.
Now days all the printers are pretty much throw away plastic junk. I still have an old laser printer with a metal chasis that's been printing checks for over 18 years. Runs like a champ but its big and its quite heavy.
The only other thing that concerns me about faxes or modems is the PC connected to a phone line. I'm sure you've read about infected computers running up thousands of dollars in outgoing calls. If you protect your pc with a security scheme it shouldnt be a problem but its something to keep in mind.

Never buy brand name ink cartridge. I have a Brother laser printer at home and the Brother 6000 page ink cartridge costs $71 plus tax brand new.Originally posted by Rebycman:

I recently found a website that sells compatible cartridges for only $29(no tax) and I bought 2 and it works like a charm.
Companies that sell compatible cartriges abound on the internet. Just to an internet search.

Re: Feedback on any HP Officejet all-in-on
I have a HP Officejet 4110,all in one Print, fax, copy and scan.
I like that it semd and recieve fax in co;or,and it also automatically recognoze, faxes, and also allows an anserwing ,achine to function on the same line.
The print quality and speed is very good too,,but the down side is that, whenever amy of the the machines that it's networked to crashes,I have to re;oad the whole software all over.or it does not even recieve faxes. Though faxes does not require machine startup.
There is also aa software upgrade,(possibly to correct this,i don't really know,) that HP has been offering me,costing about what I paid for it. I just refuse to buy it,and will rather buy a new one, although this one is only about a year old.
