MOV files from digital cameras

Hey folks - I use a Kodak EasyShare CX7430 digital and I had it with me when I went to Kingston last month.

I recorded several 30 second-or-so long videos of different places and have since shared them with friends. They all have had the same comeback: "Hey I'm getting sound but no video".

I can see the video fine. I watch it on RealPlayer or QuickTime but not on Windows Media.

Any ideas why I can watch them but nobody else can? Thanks in advance!

Do you have them streaming from a server or web site, or did you send the file to them via E-mail or download them from your storage space?

Just so you know, MOV is a quick-time file. Windows Media Player require a codec plugin to play that kind of file correctly.

I downloaded them from my camera to my harddrive, and emailed them out from there.

they would need a codec to view them properly in windows media player etc.

that aside, just tell them to install quicktime.

Ya sounds like a codec thingy.

I had he same prblem. Did a search on google for windows media player updated codec or some such thing and downloaded and installed them. Now I have picture as well as sound.
