I bought a Dell computer in May 05. I had it plugged in to a surge protector. The power went out for 2 days during / after Katrina.
When the power came back on I turned on my computer. The screen keeps reading "windows has been corrupted or lost". I put in the rebuild disc and nothing happens.
I called Dell. After many attempts (and a LONG time on hold [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] ) I get through. The person talks me through testing the hard drive. It passed. He then informs me that although this computer is still under warrenty (?spelling) the soft ware(which came installed / bought from Dell) isn't covered [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]
I'll never buy another Dell.
