Portable hard drives

I recently saw an advertisement for 40gb portable hard drives. They were priced from $129 - $149.

Are these things any good? My current hard drive is on the way out. (It shows the disk almost full, and not much is on the drive). I saw the ads for thes portable drives and am wondering if this is a good temporary patch.

Yes, they are a very good addition to off-load a lot of your files. I have about three of these drives that I built myself.
