Most companies flag certain websites, and yes, they also monitor the frequency with with some URLs are accessed. Actually heard about someone at my place of work who was first warned and subsequently "fired" - she was managed out - for doing too much online shopping when she should be taking care of business. A friend of mine was approached by IT personnel for accessing Yahoo email too many times during the day at her place of work. There is *very* little that tech savvy companies are not aware of these days. Some of what has been suggested in this thread - including the installation of software - could actually get a person fired. Can you say "compromising the network?" There is a lot of stuff that can be found on a local PC. During my IT days, I even found porn (which I was obligated to report) on company laptops. Some IT guys routinely check systems if they come by to do desktop servicing.

I would suggest that before anyone tries to do anything cute, they check their organizations internet access policy. Our policy clearly states that an employee can use the internet for personal purposes providing such use do not interfere or conflict with their duties.

Another option would be use a cell phone with Mobile Web. No way for them to track your surfing habbits (lol). I just checked and I can surf this site with my phone so it is possible.

Another option is to get a cell phone with DUN (Dial up networking) and use your cell as your modem to surf the net (You probably cant do this with a office desktop machine but a laptop could probably get away with it).

Hehe I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging...but it gives you a few options.
