between dis eedyat router (d-link dir-655)
and de wirelss modem inside this NEW laptop mi nuh kno which one is worse. Dis rahtid laptop soon guh back mi bleeve it have a defective modem inside it.

It keep switchin' pan it own or going offline pan its own or sum odda piece a fawt

de routah jus keep dropping de blasted internet like crazy.
when mi tek de router outta de equation everything is fine, de laptop run smooth as ever.
Mi guh a mi parents yaad an all ova deh it still a drop de wireless feed

I believe I have all de updates now so I "should" be fine.
Mi a guh play wid it fi anoddah week an if it keep up it going back.

Try clowning/adding the MAC address fi di new laptop into yuh router. Also duh an ipconfig procedure fi release an renew yuh IP address.

And check if there is a newer firmware for the router. Another ting to check is the MTU size. Sometimes with the newer machine and the newer network cards, the MTU size is set at a bigger setting than the <span style="font-weight: bold">older</span> router can handle. Sometimes unpredictable things occur, like dropping the connection when the MTU size too large. Then you have the card specs. Wireless B or Wireless G. Sometimes you have to set the router/network card in the pc to just one of them to make it stable.
